Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy was full of crazy developments. But we really want to see a particularly crazy mission from the comics in season 3 of the Netflix series.
In the second season of the superhero series The Umbrella Academy, the unusual family plunges into a wacky time travel adventure. There is definitely no shortage of crazy ideas in the Netflix production and so the new episodes are also peppered with creative ideas non-stop.
The Umbrella Academy is primarily based on the comics by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way. One mission from the original is so crazy that we really want to see it in the very likely third season of the Netflix series.
A source points out the wacky storyline from The Umbrella Academy comic that sends the young superheroes on their very first mission in issue # 1. The first season of the Netflix series follows most of the story from the comic.
Again, it is about Sir Reginald Hargreeves adopting 7 of 43 children with extraordinary abilities to prevent the end of the world. The heroes’ first mission in the comic is very different from the one in the series. The family sends the template to Paris, where the Eiffel Tower suddenly fires green laser beams.
After the heroes have knocked over the tower, they find the person in charge at the top: the Eiffel Tower engineer Gustave Eiffel has taken control of the tower as a malicious zombie robot! After number 2 succeeds in defeating Eiffel, the Eiffel Tower fires itself at the moon with a rocket drive.
Since this distinctly wacky series was also at least briefly mentioned in the Netflix series, it could well appear as a flashback in season 3, according to a source.
