From its broadcast on HBO in the United States (and OCS in France), Euphoria has established itself as an already essential pop phenomenon. Halfway between Skins and a futuristic clip, Sam Levinson’s series caught everyone by surprise, especially thanks to an unprecedented aesthetic for a teenage show, and thanks to its cast with unparalleled charisma. Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie. The good news, they will all be back in season 2 of Euphoria. But when?
Delay, and a special episode
While a few series managed to finish their filming before the pandemic, others have not been so lucky. Among the big losers of the coronavirus, one counts for example Succession and Euphoria.
Don’t worry though, the season is definitely underway. On the set of Jimmy Kimmel, Zendaya told Ben Platt, then ephemeral host: “We are trying to find a way to create a season 2 that we are really proud of while being very careful”. The actress confirms that this new part has indeed been written; all that remains is to turn it.
But since filming and post-production can take time, it just might be that Euphoria’s team has a surprise for their fans. To Ben Platt, Zendaya added: “We might do a little special episode. I don’t know how to describe it, but an episode that we could do with a limited number of people, in a safe environment, just to give people something. ”
The Euphoria team plans to feature a minimum of four new characters. We will therefore find Darian, a 17-year-old high school student who is extroverted, sensitive, vulnerable, and malicious. Ray, another 17-year-old, will be a young man with a pure heart and an attractive physique, from the working class. On the girls’ side, season 2 of Euphoria should mark the arrival of Friend, an 18-year-old stripper, addicted to hard drugs, and her boyfriend with whom she has a complicated relationship. And an adult, Serena, in her fifties, white, tough.
